Its History
Psilocybe brasiliensis, aka the Brazilian, is one of the fastest colonizing strains around. It produces large, fleshy fruits with a caramel-brown and yellow stem. Psilocybe brasiliensis is a species of psilocybin mushroom in the family Hymenogastraceae. Originating in Brazil, it was described as new to science in 1978 by Mexican mycologist Gastón Guzmán. The general shape is reminiscent of some of the temperate Psilocybes like Psilocybe cyanofibrillosa.
Its Species
The Brazilian belongs in the Psilocybe Cubensis species of psychedelic mushroom. The main psychoactive elements in this species are psilocybin and psilocin. As a rule of thumb, Psilocybe Cubensis strains contain approximately 0.63% psilocybin and 0.60% psilocin. This means, that for every 250mg of mushrooms, there will be anywhere from 1-5 milligrams of psilocybin and psilocin.
